Frequently Asked Questions

Tap the + button on the main screen, enter your API URL, select the HTTP method, and tap Execute. Your response will appear below.

Export your Postman collection as JSON v2.1, then in ProbePad go to Settings > Import > select your file. Your requests and collections will be imported.

All secrets are encrypted and stored in the iOS Keychain, protected by your device's Secure Enclave. They never leave your device.

Create an environment in Settings > Environments, add your variables (e.g., {{baseUrl}}), then use them in your requests. Switch environments from the top bar.

PRO unlocks environments and variables, the secrets vault, OAuth, GraphQL, WebSocket, Postman and OpenAPI import, and endpoint monitoring. Collections, response diff and cURL import are free for everyone. Pay once for lifetime or yearly — both unlock the same features.

Not in this release. Your requests, collections, environments and history stay on the device where you created them, and secrets live in that device's Keychain. To move a request to another device, export it as cURL and paste it there.

Yes. A dedicated GraphQL editor for queries, mutations, and subscriptions (with variables and operation names), and a WebSocket session view for opening connections and inspecting every text or binary frame in a live transcript. Both are PRO.

Yes. ProbePad ships two App Intents — "Run Saved Request" and "Send HTTP Request" — that work in Siri, the Shortcuts app, and Focus automations. Wire a saved request to a Home Screen tile or a daily shortcut and you're done.

Switch the body type to multipart/form-data, add a part, and pick a file from the Files app. ProbePad streams it with the correct boundary and Content-Type — perfect for image uploads and any endpoint that expects form-data parts.

Three. Last Request shows your most recent run with its status and when it ran. Request Status shows a request you pick, with its last status and response time, and also comes as a Lock Screen circular. Endpoint Monitor (PRO) shows a watched endpoint's last result and when it was checked. A widget only ever sees a summary — request name, host, status, timing — never a header, a body or a token.

Yes, for requests you have marked as watched. ProbePad asks iOS for background time and runs those checks when it is granted. iOS decides when that happens, so ProbePad never promises a schedule — instead the widget and the app both tell you when the last check actually happened. If Background App Refresh is switched off for ProbePad, the app says so plainly and checks run only while it is open.

No. Your purchase covers every PRO feature permanently, including everything new in v1.6, at no extra charge. Entitlement is recognized by the product you bought, so there is nothing to do — beyond tapping Restore Purchase once after installing on a new device.

There is a yearly plan at US$9.99 with seven days free, and a one-time lifetime purchase at US$19.99. They unlock exactly the same features — choose how you pay. If you cancel the yearly plan, it runs to the end of the period you paid for and then stops renewing; your requests, collections and history stay on your device either way, and the free tier keeps working.

Only the API requests you choose to send, to the endpoints you type. ProbePad has no server, no account and no analytics — no advertising identifier, no third-party SDK, no telemetry of any kind. Your requests, tokens and secrets stay on your device; secrets live in the iOS Keychain. Cross-device syncing is not part of this release.

Troubleshooting

Request times out

Check your internet connection and verify the API endpoint is correct. Some APIs may have rate limiting.

Can't access Secrets Vault

Ensure Face ID / Touch ID is enabled in your device settings. You can also use your device passcode as fallback.

Import failed

Make sure your Postman export is in Collection v2.1 format. Other formats are not currently supported.
